Job summary

Medxcel at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD seeks a full-time painter for the 2nd Shift. You will apply protective and decorative coatings to interior and exterior surfaces, prep surfaces, and maintain paint across facilities.

You will install and repair drywall, textures, and wall coverings; operate paint and power equipment; erect scaffolding; and help with special projects while following safety standards and DOT/ADA requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant painting experience.
  • Training from a trade school is required.
  • Experience applying protective/decorative coatings.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain drywall, textures, and wall coverings.

Responsibilities
How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Responsible for the application of protective and decorative coats (paint, varnish, lacquer) to all interior and exterior surfaces and property. This also includes preparing surfaces (washing, scraping, sanding) and maintaining existing paint through matching and tinting.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains drywall, wall texturing, vinyl wall coverings, and ceiling acoustic texturing.
  • Operates and maintains various painting and power equipment, including compressors, spray equipment, sandblasters, and heavy lift equipment (scissors/boom stage up to 80 feet). Must also safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials and follow Standard Precautions using required personal protective equipment.
  • Erects scaffolding and staging as necessary to reach work surfaces. This duty also encompasses creating and applying graphics/signage layouts to comply with DOT, Safety, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
  • Communicates with personnel on work order status and procedures for decision-making and compliance. The role also involves supporting Special Projects, participating in assigned meetings, workshops, and training, and completing other duties as assigned.

Education

Must have one or more of the following:

  • Graduate of trade school
Experience
  • 1+ year relevant experience.
  • Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience.
