Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel is seeking a dedicated painting team member to refresh and maintain the property's interior and exterior finishes. You will stay on your feet with painting duties across the hotel, ensuring spaces look new and welcoming for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities include performing daily shift tasks, documenting calls, adhering to OSHA standards, and collaborating with the team to maintain finishes while using ladders and scaffolding as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Wood refinishing and painting experience required.
  • CPR, OSHA 10, scaffold training certification required.
  • Previous carpentry and painting experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain interior and exterior finishes.
  • Repair, clean, touch up, and maintain wall finishes, ceilings, furniture and woodwork.
  • Respond to guest calls and associate requests.
  • Lift and transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Work with ladders and scaffolding.

With little down time on this job, you will be kept on your feet by grabbing your painting tools and adding a fresh coat of paint throughout the property, keeping it looking new and shiny.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Lend color to our painting team, and help keep our hotel looking fresh. With little down time on this job, you will be kept on your feet by grabbing your painting tools and adding a fresh coat of paint throughout the property, keeping it looking new and shiny.

Monday - Friday (1st Shift)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • 1. Perform daily shift reports
  • 2. Document all calls in master computer log
  • 3. Follow all OSHA standards
  • 4. Maintain interior and exterior finishes
  • 5. Respond to guest calls and associate requests.
  • 6. Assist in performing PM on all FF&E
  • 7. Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water
  • 8. Repair, clean, touchup and or maintain but not limited to the following:
  • a. All wall coverings and finishes
  • b. Ceiling finishes and textures
  • c. Furniture, cabinetry, doors and woodwork
  • d. Hvac air diffusers and grills
  • 9. Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms, and appearance are maintained
  • 10. Must be able to lift and transport 50# loads
  • 11. Must be able to work with ladders & scaffolding
  • 12. Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum
  • 13. Make recommendations to his/her supervisor regarding improved methods and procedures so as to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.
  • 14. Attend all required Engineering Department and other meetings.
  • 15. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 5. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as MSDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
  • 6. Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates
  • 7. Must be able to work as an independent painter
  • 8. Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action and implement solutions.
  • 9. Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
  • 10. Must be punched in, in uniform and ready for work as scheduled.
  • 11. Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
  • 12. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
  • 13. Must be flexible with a positive attitude.
