Job summary

Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel is seeking a dedicated painter to keep our hotel looking fresh both inside and out. You will quickly mobilize painting tools to apply finishes, maintaining a polished environment across the property.

The role requires wood refinishing, wall treatments, and coordination with the engineering team. Shift is Monday–Friday, first shift, with standard hotel environment expectations and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Wood refinishing and painting experience required.
• CPR, OSHA 10, scaffold training certification required.
• Previous carpentry and painting experience required.
• Must read MSDS and safety information and maintenance manuals.
• Must communicate effectively with guests and associates.
• Able to work as an independent painter.
• Able to analyze problems and implement solutions.
• Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
• Must be ready for work in uniform and on time.
• Must use hand and power tools and operate ladders/scaffolding.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily shift tasks and keep accurate logs.
• Document calls in the master log.
• Follow OSHA standards and safety procedures.
• Maintain interior and exterior finishes of the hotel.
• Answer guest calls and requests from associates.
• Assist in PM on FF&E and cost control (heat, power, lights, water).
• Repair and maintain wall coverings, ceilings, furniture and woodwork.
• Inspect and maintain HVAC diffusers and grills.
• Represent the hotel professionally at all times.
• Attend Engineering and other required meetings.
• Suggest improvements to methods and procedures.
• Additional duties as assigned.

With little down time on this job, you will be kept on your feet by grabbing your painting tools and adding a fresh coat of paint throughout the property, keeping it looking new and shiny.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Monday - Friday (1st Shift)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform daily shift reports

2. Document all calls in master computer log

3. Follow all OSHA standards

4. Maintain interior and exterior finishes

5. Respond to guest calls and associate requests.

6. Assist in performing PM on all FF&E

7. Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water

8. Repair, clean, touchup and or maintain but not limited to the following:

a. All wall coverings and finishes

b. Ceiling finishes and textures

c. Furniture, cabinetry, doors and woodwork

d. Hvac air diffusers and grills

9. Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms, and appearance are maintained

10. Must be able to lift and transport 50# loads

11. Must be able to work with ladders & scaffolding

12. Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum

13. Make recommendations to his/her supervisor regarding improved methods and procedures so as to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.

14. Attend all required Engineering Department and other meetings.

15. Perform other duties as assigned.
