Job summary

Encore is seeking a skilled Painter - Finisher II to join our Fabrication team in Lanham, MD. Under the supervision of the Manager, Fabrication, you will apply finishes to wood, metal and plastics, using lacquers and automotive paints to achieve a high-quality, durable appearance.

The role requires 3+ years of painting experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to collaborate with cabinet makers and production staff in a shop environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of painting and finishing experience.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of current paint and finishing methods.
• Communicate verbally, through computers, apps, and relevant software.
• Experience with automotive paints and lacquers a plus.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality finishes using masking, spray painting, piece marking, and chemical finishing.
• Prepare surfaces for coating: clean, tape, sand, fill, putty.
• Operate large format spray equipment.
• Operate small electric and manual hand tools.
• Color match and mix different mediums.
• Collaborate with cabinet makers, carpenters, and production managers.
• Maintain and manage inventory supplies.
• Apply finishes to wood, metal, and plastics.
