Job summary

SMC is seeking a Painter/Drywall Technician to ensure community assets meet company standards and laws. The role requires maintaining supplies, documenting service requests, and performing drywall and painting tasks across interiors and exteriors.

Ideal candidates have three years of painting or drywall experience, strength to lift, and strong safety awareness. On-call rotations and internal training within a year are expected to start.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in painting or drywall related field(s).
• Successful completion of internal maintenance classes and on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies.
• Diagnose HVAC problems and repair or replace components as needed.
• Install and finish drywall of all sizes and types using current construction methods.
• Prepare areas to be painted: scraping, drywall repair, caulk removal, electrical plate removal, taping, drop cloths.
• Repair drywall and plaster using current methods and materials.
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Maintain personal tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist.
• Address emergency maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We're seeking a Painter/Drywall Technician with whatever-it-takes approach to join our team! In this full-time role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the physical asset of the community meets both the company standards and applicable laws.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

• Address, follow up and document service requests


• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies


• Diagnose HVAC problems and repair or replace components, as needed


• Install and finish drywall of all sizes and types using current construction methods


• Prepare all areas to be painted, to include scraping old paint, drywall repair, caulk removal, electrical plate removal, taping and laying of drop cloths


• Repair drywall and plaster using the most advances methods and materials available


• Complete preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled


• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled


• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist


• Address emergency maintenance as needed


• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor


• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts

REQUIREMENTS:

• Three years of experience in painting or drywall related field(s)


• Successful completion off all basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date
