Job summary

LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, MI is seeking a Painter III for a regular full-time role in manufacturing. The person will perform silk screening, assist with R&D projects, and execute painting and related tasks to ensure parts meet blueprint specs.

Responsibilities

• Silk screen parts to blueprint specifications.
• Mask, paint, and finish parts per blueprints.

• Maintain quality and productivity; self-inspect finished parts.
• Record daily work order numbers and part numbers.
• Assist with routing sheet revision checks and changes as needed.
• Operate related hand tools and sanding equipment safely.

Schedule:

Full Time: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday – Friday, OT as needed, 5:00am – 3:30pm

Position Summary:

Performs silk screening within the department, assist Group Leader with job related duties for R&D special projects. Performs painting and other various job functions such as rivet, fill, sand mask and hang parts within the department. Maintain quality of product while ensuring performance and production.

Position Responsibilities:

• Pick up LECO parts from Raw Parts holding area and move to workstation
• Required for making sure the Router Sheet revision level matches the blueprint revision level accompanying the LECO manufactured parts
• Required for contacting the Operations Supervisor if the Router Sheet revision level does not match the revision level on the blueprint
• Required for NOT processing the parts if revision levels do not match the Router and blueprint
• Review router/process sheet instructions and recommend necessary changes to Plating/Paint Supervisor or Dept Manager
• Required to write the qty, initials and date on the Router Sheet when parts are finished
• Required to Silk Screen parts to blueprint specifications
• Required to Fill and Sand parts as needed
• Required to wear protective form fitting gloves while operating sanding equipment
• Required for safe operation of miscellaneous hand tools, sanding stations and equipment
• Required to position parts at a comfort level to prevent overreaching and bending
• Required to mask, paint parts to blueprint specifications as needed
• Produce and maintain quality parts to blueprint specifications
• Maintain acceptable level of productivity
• Responsible for self-inspection of finished parts
• Assure that labor is reported timely and correctly
• Implement corrective actions
• Record daily work order numbers and part numbers on form R8.5.1.4

Position Requirements:

• Use of Miscellaneous hand tools (Orbital Sander, Dynafile, Hand Grinder, Bead Blast Cabinet, Hand Files)
• Perform Bonderize and Spray Paint
• Operate Forklift Truck and obtain LECO Forklift License
