Job summary

Apache Industrial Services is seeking a Painter & Blaster to perform blasting and coating duties, load and unload equipment, and handle site preparation, mobilization, and demobilization.

The role requires following directions, heavy lifting, kneeling and climbing, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while complying with safety policies.

You will work on industrial projects across the region, with opportunities for continued training and advancement.

Qualifications

• Paint and coat ferrous and non-ferrous surfaces to mil-spec standards.
• Know-safe handling, storage, and disposal of paint products.
• Operate coating and lining equipment including airless spray and pumps.
• Use sand/grit blasting and surface prep equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and wear required PPE.

Job Description Position Title: Painter & Blaster Position Reports To: Foreman Position Summary A Painter & Blaster shall perform or assist in the blasting and coating duties as required per the job scope. A Painter Blaster shall also perform general site work such as loading and unloading equipment and materials, site clean-up and preparation, mobilization, and demobilization to and from the jobsite, and general construction tasks.

Essential Functions

• Follow verbal directions as required to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below.
• Heavy lifting will often be required to perform tasks.
• Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb.
• Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time.
• Clean up of work area, supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman with regard to issues and concerns on the job site.
• Responsible for ensuring that work continues in the Foreman's absence.
• Comply with all Apache and client safety policies and programs.
• Maintain a reliable attendance records
• Always maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Work unsupervised in an efficient and effective manner.
• Able to wear all required PPE
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of uninterrupted service with Apache.
• 2+ years of blasting industrial experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Prepare and paint a variety of surfaces including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and concrete while ensuring that the finish coatings are to mil spec requirements.
• Possesses knowledge regarding the techniques related to the safe use, storage and disposal of paint and cleaning products.
• Utilize various coating and lining equipment including airless spray equipment and plural component pumps.
• Utilize sand blasting, grit blasting, and other various surface preparation equipment.
• Clean up of work area, supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Work unsupervised in an efficient and effective manner.
• Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman with regard to issues and concerns on the job site.

Work Conditions/Physical Demands

Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. No adverse environmental conditions expected. Must be able to work in high noise volumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, dusty conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
