Job Description - Painter A/C&Maint A 2nd Shift (331841)

Work Performed:
Applies dope, lacquer, paint and other finishing material to finish or refinish aircraft, equipment, and facilities. Prepares surfaces for painting by removing all foreign substances, removes old or chipped paint. Masks surfaces not to be painted. Applies primers and fillers and rubs intermediate coats to assure smooth and uniform coating to avoid streaks and blemishes. Must be able to match colors for spot or repair jobs. May prepare and mix paints to desired color and consistencies. Polishes final coat with wax or polishing compound. Does rework as required. Performs lettering with stencils.
Paints, primers, lacquers, enamels, varnishes and thinners. Spray guns, pressure pots, air hoses, rollers, and brushes. Templates, trammel points, rules and measuring tapes, and stencil cutting machines, etc.
Experience & Other Qualifications:
Three years experience as an Aircraft Painter.
Requires High School diploma or GED.
