Painter A/C&Maint A - 2nd Shift (ROC)

Description

Business Name: Bell Helicopter Textron

Function/Program: Customer Support

Work Performed:

  1. Applies dope, lacquer, paint, and other finishing material to finish or refinish aircraft, equipment, and facilities.
  2. Prepares surfaces for painting by removing all foreign substances, removing old or chipped paint, and masking surfaces not to be painted.
  3. Applies primers and fillers and rubs intermediate coats to assure smooth and uniform coating to avoid streaks and blemishes.
  4. Must be able to match colors for spot or repair jobs and may prepare and mix paints to desired colors and consistencies.
  5. Polishes final coat with wax or polishing compound and performs rework as required.
  6. Performs lettering with stencils.

Tools & Equipment Used:

Paints, primers, lacquers, enamels, varnishes, and thinners; spray guns, pressure pots, air hoses, rollers, and brushes; templates, trammel points, rules and measuring tapes, and stencil cutting machines.

Qualifications

Experience & Other Requirements: Three years experience as an Aircraft Painter.
