Job summary

Putzmeister America, Inc. is seeking a paint technician to apply finishes to assemblies and parts in line with customer specifications. You will paint a variety of components and ensure prep standards are met while maintaining a clean, safe workspace on site.

Responsibilities include operating spray equipment, inspecting prep, documenting processes, and reporting any quality concerns. Prior spray painting experience is preferred and a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

  • Requires working knowledge of spray guns and related equipment.
  • Waste management training is helpful.
  • Able to pass a pulmonary function test (PFT) for respirator use.
  • Fluently works with the metric system.

Responsibilities

  • Paints all needed parts including frames, sub-assemblies, and other components per paint specifications.
  • Inspects parts and machines for prep standard conformance before painting.
  • Operates and maintains paint pumps, spray guns and related equipment.
  • Prepares documentation and checklists accurately.
  • Informs supervisor of problems such as material or quality issues.
  • Safely drives customers’ trucks around the Putzmeister property.
  • Keeps work area orderly, clean, and safe daily.
  • Maintains Putzmeister America’s high standards of quality.
  • Details completed units by touching up needed areas.
  • Completes the layout for stripes and graphics and applies them.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

Paints all assemblies, sub‑assemblies and parts in accordance to customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Paints all needed parts including, but not limited to, frames, lower portions of finished assemblies, cabs, upper portions of pump, hoods, and sides of booms with consistent high quality, according to the paint specification sheets.
  • Inspects parts and machines for their conformance to prep standards before painting.
  • Operates and maintains paint pumps, spray guns and other related equipment.
  • Prepares documentation and checklists accurately.
  • Informs Supervisor or Lead Person of problems encountered, such as material and quality issues.
  • Safely drives customer’s trucks in and around the Putzmeister property.
  • Ensures that the work area is orderly, clean and safe on a daily basis.
  • Maintains Putzmeister America’s high standards of quality.
  • Details completed units by touching up needed areas.
  • Completes the layout for stripes and graphics and makes the application.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Education / Certification / Training
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in the equipment painting field.
  • Power washing experience is preferred, but not required.
Work Environment / Physical Demands

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. The noise level in this environment is frequently loud. Ability to continuously stand or walk; and the ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
