Job summary

LoneStar Fasteners Houston in Spring, TX seeks a dedicated Painter to apply coatings to manufactured parts per customer specifications. The role is full-time on 2nd shift, focusing on applying finishes, preparing surfaces, and maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret work instructions and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Safety and Security policies and use PPE.
• Report injuries or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Keep work area neat and orderly at all times.
• Review work orders/blueprints and ensure work matches specs.
• Start up and operate coating equipment and painting booths.
• Perform minor maintenance such as changing nozzles.
• Ensure production rate meets quality standards.
• Spray surfaces with coatings and prep surfaces prior to painting.

Essential Functions

LoneStar Fasteners is looking for the right, qualified individuals to join our team!! We have 1 immediate Painter position (full-time) open on 2nd Shift within the Production area at our facility in Spring, TX! The basic function of the Painter is to ensure the parts are coated to customer specifications as contained within the work order.

• Comply with company Safety and Security policies including use of Personal Protective Equipment, as well as policies and procedures on Quality Assurance and Company Health.
• Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
• Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner at all times.
• Review work orders and blueprints to ensure work is performed according to specifications
• Start up, operate, and shut down the coating equipment which includes coating applicator, painting booth, curing and preheat ovens, crane and fork lift
• Performs a variety of minor maintenance duties such as changing nozzles.
• Checks work visually, makes minor decisions; detects and reports defective items and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
• Maintains production rate with acceptable quality.
• Must be willing to work and/or cross train in other areas as necessary.
• Performs a variety of other tasks and duties of equal or less complexity as assigned by supervisor.
• Sprays surfaces of manufactured products with coatings using spray gun
• Cleans grease and dirt from product, using materials, such as lacquer thinner, turpentine, soap, and water
• Prepares surfaces prior to painting, such as grinding, sanding, and buffing

Experience

• 0-2 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment
• Fasteners industry experience preferred

Skills And Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associate’s degree preferred
• Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications
• Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance
• Complete physical exams as required
• Ability to pass a basic math, measurement and mechanical aptitude test; ability to read a tape measure
• Must be able to work a shift schedule and overtime as needed, including weekends
• Self-motivated, team-player.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms up to weighing 50 lbs
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close, Distance, Peripheral, Depth, and Ability to adjust focus
• Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer
