Qualifications

  • Experience with high power tools (e.g. impacts, wrenches).
  • Previous experience with industrial painting.
  • Previous experience in industrial manufacturing preferred.
  • Demonstrated punctual and dependable performance.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the department Supervisor to assist with daily operations.
  • Follow instructions during the operation process.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Mix paints to correct ratios as required.

  • Use protective equipment as necessary; follow safety procedures.

Position Summary:

The Painter Level 1 role is to apply paint and other coatings to various materials and surfaces. They are responsible for properly preparing surfaces, selecting and mixing appropriate paints, and ensuring that the final coatings meet quality standards. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work under the direction of the department Supervisor to assist with daily operations.
  • Follow instructions during the operation process.
  • Responsible for continually maintaining a clean working environment.
  • Painters must be able to mix paint properly to the correct mixing ratio.
  • Most paint will be mixed by the Mixing Specialist, but the Painter must know how to properly mix paint when necessary.
  • A paint test will be required and will be scored on appearance and technique.
  • Painter must be capable of setting up pressure pots.
  • Painters must be capable of operating HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) guns.
  • Painter will have to be able to use wet film gage
  • Painter will have to be able to use dry film thickness gage
  • Painter will have to be able to read and understand job travelers to properly complete the traveler once operation has been completed.
  • Painters must clean and maintain all painting equipment.
  • Use protective equipment when necessary, following all safety procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
  • Must be able to read and understand measuring devices, i.e. tape measures.
  • Experience with high power tools (i.e. impacts, wrenches, etc.)
  • Previous experience with industrial painting.
  • Previous experience working in the industrial manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated punctual and dependable performance.
Environment/Physical Requirements with or without Accommodation:

This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
  • Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
