Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Mount Pleasant, IA is seeking a 2nd shift painter to apply finishes to metal parts, including setup, operation and inspection. You will work in a safe, productive team environment, following our policies and procedures to ensure quality results.

The role involves mixing and applying paints, maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and adhering to manufacturing specs. Strong reading, math, communication, and safety awareness are essential.

• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math as job duties require.
• Must possess common sense, positive attitude and excellent attendance.
• Must be quality and safety conscious and a team player.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with coworkers.

• Must use personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures.

Shift : 2nd Shift

Pay: $17.12 - 19.03 plus $1.50

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Painters are responsible for all aspects of painting metal, including set up, operation, inspection, and material handling activities. Painters are expected to work in a safe, productive and cooperative manner in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands policies and procedures.

• Quality Control: Inspecting paint finishes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining spray painting equipment.
• Safety: Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate protective gear.
• Material Management: Mixing, matching, and managing inventory of paints, solvents, and other materials.
• Production Processes: Understanding and following manufacturing specifications and processes.
• Problem Solving: Identifying and addressing issues related to the painting process.
• Inventory Control: Tracking daily usage of paints, thinners, and other solvents.
• Paint Application: Applying paint, varnish, or other finishes using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other tools.
• Additional Duties: Complete all tasks as assigned by department leadership

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous manufacturing and/or painting experience preferred
• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
• Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance
• Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to interact with people
• Extensive standing, frequent bending, sitting, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking
• Required personal protective equipment, overhead crane, carts, dollies and some hand tools
• Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
