HYG designs, engineers, manufactures, sells, and services a comprehensive line of lift trucks and aftermarket parts marketed globally under the Hyster and Yale brand names. HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will positively influence the Fabrication team. As a Painter, you will have the opportunity to apply two-part Poly and Powder Coat in the painting of forklift truck frames and components required to build a forklift, including wheelabration, blow-off, loading, and unloading to conveyor and staging material.

Key accountabilities include:

• Maintain proper color of lift trucks to meet specifications.
• Clean, sandblast, and apply paint to maintain standards and follow established procedures.
• Maintain adherence to quality standards.
• Promote a safe work environment through safe behavior, safe operation of equipment, and proper use of PPE.
• Perform routine cleaning of spray equipment and general housekeeping.
• Support and help enforce all company policies, including safety, housekeeping, environmental, financial, reporting, and discipline.

Skills/Experience:

Minimum qualifications:

• Minimum six months experience in the proper application of primer and/or automotive finish paint.
• Experience in the proper preparation of the area to be painted.
• Vocational training or post-high school certification in auto body repair/painting.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills.
• Experience using air tools, hand tools, overhead cranes, etc.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, twisting, lifting, kneeling, reaching, pulling, squatting, and pushing.
• Knowledge of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment and proper use of PPE.

Additional Information:

1. Attendance is crucial. Candidates must not have prior obligations requiring absence in the first 90 days, especially during the first two weeks.
2. Scheduled overtime is mandatory and will count against attendance if missed (including the first week of employment).
3. Hyster-Yale is a tobacco-free campus, including in the candidate's vehicle.
4. Steel-toed or composite-toed shoes are required from Day 1.
5. If converted to full-time, the candidate will be required to move to the second shift.
6. Full-time conversion is not guaranteed immediately after 90 days.

Testing and Skills:

Candidate must take a PFT test if selected, and results must be received before confirming the start date.
