Job description

Industrial Sandblaster/Painter (2nd shift)

Position Overview

The Industrial Sandblaster/Painter performs spray painting and sandblasting operations on assigned product lines. This is a second shift position, working from 3:30 pm to 1 am Monday through Thursday, and from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Fridays. Training occurs during first shift hours, from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Ideal Candidate

Candidate should be computer literate, with at least one year of industrial related painting or sandblasting experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Spray paint and sandblast products using appropriate equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and evaluate parts for quality assurance.
  • Document and track materials and inventory accurately.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Handle materials, including crating, packing, shipping, and receiving, using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including wearing protective gear and handling chemicals safely.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • One year of industrial painting/sandblasting experience preferred.
  • Experience with industrial and marine coatings is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications is helpful.
  • Computer literacy preferred.
  • Ability to handle non-routine projects and tasks.
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English.
Physical and Technical Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds occasionally with proper techniques or assistance.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Regular walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing, and reaching are required.
  • Medically approved to wear respirator protection, which may require being clean-shaven for a tight seal.
  • Exposure to paint fumes and dust in an industrial paint/sand booth.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
