Job Description

The Painter is responsible for completing duties related to masonry, carpentry, electrical work, and painting. This includes performing efficiency tests, general ground and building maintenance, preventative maintenance, and participating in agency activities.

Core Responsibilities

• Assembling scaffolding as required
• Protecting surfaces by covering trim, floors, furniture, and other areas with masking tape, drop cloths, and protective coverings
• Setting up ventilators and safety equipment to protect against fumes
• Preparing surfaces by washing, filling holes and cracks with putty, and sanding
• Applying primer and sealers to ensure proper paint adhesion
• Mixing and matching paints, stains, and finishes according to specifications
• Applying finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in the field
• Valid NYS Driver's License
