TPI Staffing, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Painter for a manufacturing client in Texas. The role focuses on preparing, coating, and finishing valves and components per engineering blueprints and customer specs.

Attention to coating thickness and safety in a high-stakes environment is essential. You will operate airless and conventional spray systems, perform surface prep, mix epoxies and urethanes, and maintain spray equipment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of industrial painting experience.
  • Experience with two-part epoxies, zinc primers, urethanes.
  • Able to read blueprints and specs.

Responsibilities

  • Surface preparation of valve surfaces (clean, sand, mask, blast).
  • Apply primers and coatings using airless or conventional spray systems.
  • Interpret drawings and Mil-specs to determine coating thickness and curing processes.
  • Perform quality checks including film thickness testing and defect detection.

Training - 1st shift 6a-2:30pm - once trained 2nd shift - 2pm- 10:30pm
Pay Rate: $18.50/hour

We are seeking a skilled and detail- oriented Industrial Painter to join manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing a variety of industrial valves and components according to strict engineering blueprints and customer specifications.

Because our products operate in high -pressure, corrosive, and extreme environments, your precision in applying protective coatings is critical to ensuring the longevity, safety, and quality of our valves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, mask , and blast valve surfaces ( castings, forgings , and components ) to remove rust, scale , and grease prior to painting .
  • Coating Application: Mix and apply industrial primers, epoxies, polyurethanes, and other specialized protective coating using air, conventional, or plural component spray systems.
  • Blueprint & Spec Interpretation: Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, paint specifications, and Mil-specs to determine required coating thickness ( DFT/WFT) , color and curing processes.
  • Quality Control: Perform routine quality checks, including wet/dry film thickness testing ( using gauges ) and holiday ( adherence/defect ) detection to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain spray guns, pumps, booths, and mixing equipment to ensure optimal performance and a safe working environment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like respirators, and ensure proper handling / disposal of hazardous materials ( solvents, thinners, paints).
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as an industrial painter, preferably within a valve manufacturing, heavy machinery, or aerospace environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial coating materials ( two- part epoxies, zinc primers, urethanes) and their respective mixing ratios/pot life.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Proven experience operating airless and conventional spray systems as well as surface prep tools (sandblasters, grinders).
  • Detail- Oriented: Ability to achieve uniform coating thickness and recognize defects like runs, sags, or orange peeling.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 LBS, and work while wearing a respirator in a paint booth environment.
  • Certifications ( Preferred ): NACE/AMPP certification or formal vocational training in industrial coating is a significant plus.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School or equivalent education required
  • 1-3 years of industrial painting experience
  • Comments for Suppliers: Will train on 1st and transition to 2nd shift.
