Job summary

Asset Living is seeking a Painter to support maintenance operations across properties. You will assist with make-ready tasks, cosmetic repairs, and routine maintenance to ensure high-quality housing environments.

The role emphasizes on-site attendance, safety practices, and responsiveness to work orders. Candidates should have a high school diploma and basic computer skills, with knowledge of housing laws and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Community maintenance: assist in preparation of vacant units and other maintenance tasks.
• Regular/daily on-site attendance required.
• Respond to resident/management requests and work orders in a timely manner.
• Ensure all repairs and replacements for common areas and units meet quality standards.
• Follow Asset Plus policies and maintain a safe, well-organized maintenance shop.
• Assist in maintaining hazard communication program and promote safe work practices.
• Participate in unit inspections as requested.
• Report violations of community rules to the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager.

Position: Painter

The Painter assists in carrying out the maintenance processes of the property, including corrective, preventative, routine, emergency, and cosmetic maintenance. The Painter helps with the make‑ready process and works on special projects as requested.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Community maintenance: assist in preparation of vacant units and other maintenance tasks.
• Regular/daily on‑site attendance required.
• Respond to resident/management requests and work orders in a timely manner.
• Ensure all repairs and replacements for common areas and units meet quality standards.
• Follow Asset Plus policies and maintain a safe, well‑organized maintenance shop.
• Assist in maintaining hazard communication program and promote safe work practices.
• Participate in unit inspections as requested.
• Report violations of community rules to the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager.
• Use property resources, equipment, and supplies efficiently.
• Perform additional tasks requested by the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and maintain a positive community image.
• Enforce community policies as delegated by immediate supervisor.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use on‑site software.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and OSHA requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Regular movement, including climbing ladders, stairs, and step stools; moving objects up to 100+ lbs.
• Static duties that may involve standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and hazardous chemicals.
• Availability to work overtime, weekends, night hours, and on‑call emergencies.

License / Equipment

• Reliable transportation for on‑call duties.

Compensation & Benefits

The role offers a competitive hourly rate and a comprehensive total rewards package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance; 401(k) with employer matching; and commission and performance bonuses when applicable. Full‑time employees receive paid sick days and company holidays.

Salary Range

$24 per hour to $25 per hour
