Job summary

Putnam City Maintenance in Oklahoma City, OK invites an experienced Painter to join our facilities team on a full-time, twelve-month term. Immediate start date and a hands-on role developing interior and exterior finishes across district properties.

The ideal candidate has a valid driver’s license, knowledge of painting tools and techniques, strong customer service, and the ability to lift 55 lbs. Reports to the Paint Lead and adheres to safety standards during all projects.

Responsibilities

• Must perform all aspects of painting requirements as scheduled by the Paint Lead.
• Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer and related materials to surfaces.
• Washes, scrapes, sands, torches and smoothes surfaces prior to painting.
• Cleans equipment, paint mixing area and work area.
• Identifies and safely handles paints, stains and related materials and disposes of hazardous material.
• Performs other duties assigned by Paint Lead.

Job Description

TITLE:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrates aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities.


• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

• Must be able to safely lift and carry 55 lbs.

REPORTS TO:

Paint Lead

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must perform all aspect of painting requirements the district may require as scheduled by the Paint Lead.

• Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment and other structures.


• Washes, scrapes, sands, torches and/or smoothes interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.


• Cleans equipment, paint mixing area and work area.


• Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating material and other hazardous materials.

• Must perform all duties assigned by Paint Lead

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve month basis. Salary to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy.
