FULL VISION INC in Newton, KS is seeking a dedicated Powder Coat Painter to operate the automated line and apply powder coatings on a variety of surfaces, equipment, and machinery.

You will load parts, monitor booths and ovens, inspect finishes, manage color changes, and maintain safety and cleanliness on the shop floor while meeting daily output goals. This is a full-time, first-shift position requiring a GED or high school diploma and physical ability to lift.

Qualifications

  • GED or High School Diploma required.
  • Experience with painting surfaces and operating coating equipment preferred.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate automated powder coat paint line, including spray booths, ovens, and conveyors.
  • Load and unload parts efficiently and safely.
  • Inspect finished parts for coverage, thickness and finish quality.
  • Adjust equipment settings to maintain coating performance.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area; manage color changes as needed.
  • Record production data and quality checks.
  • Follow safety procedures and use PPE at all times.
  • Work with production team to meet daily output and quality goals.

General Summary

This position is responsible for the safe completion of work in the most efficient manner in their area of responsibility. The painter will be responsible for painting a variety of industrial surfaces, including equipment, machinery, walls, floors, ceilings, and other structures.

Essential Functions:
  • Operate and monitor automated powder coat paint line, including spray booths, ovens, and conveyor systems
  • Load and unload parts onto the paint line in an efficient and safe manner
  • Inspect parts before and after coating to ensure proper coverage, thickness, and finish quality
  • Adjust settings on equipment to maintain optimal coating performance
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and upscale more complex problems as needed
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of paint equipment and work area
  • Maintain proper powder levels and manage color changes when required
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and handling of materials
  • Work closely with production team to meet daily output and quality goals
  • Document production data, quality checks, and any issues encountered
  • Apply coatings using electrostatic and non-electrostatic processes
  • Maintains chemicals in the wash tank
  • Operates thinner recycler
  • Move, hang, and remove materials as needed to using hoists, cranes, or other available methods
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Supervisor
Expectations:

You will be expected to obtain the tools listed as “Minimum Required Tools” for your classification. Regular attendance and starting on time are essential. Responsible for the quality of own work and not to accept poor quality workmanship from others. Controls the preparation for and application of paint. Expected to perform at acceptable safety, quality and performance levels and strive for continuous improvement as described in Full Vision’s Quality Policy.

QualificationsPhysical Requirements:
  • Moves parts weighing up to 80 pounds
  • Frequently moves up to 50-pound parts overhead
  • Exposure to noise – continuously
  • Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds
  • Standing, Twisting, Walking – frequently
  • Hand/Eye coordination – frequently
  • Continuous standing and walking on concrete surfaces
Position Requirements:
  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Passage of Drug Test
  • Passage of Physical Agility Test
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal communication
  • Physical strength to operate machinery
  • Diligence and attention to detail
  • Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Experience painting a variety of surface types
  • Proficiency with technical machinery
