Job summary

LSI Staffing in Peabody, KS is seeking a dedicated team member to prepare metal parts for powder coating, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting surfaces.

You will remove oils and contaminants to ensure paint adhesion, hang parts on racks, inspect for defects, and mask areas not to be coated.

This is a full-time on-site role with safety requirements and opportunities to grow within a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting surfaces.
• Remove oils, dirt, rust, and other contaminants to ensure paint adhesion.
• Hang or position parts on racks or conveyors for the powder coating process.
• Inspect parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards before painting.
• Mask or tape areas that should not be coated.
• Assist with unloading painted parts and perform light assembly as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding production needs or quality concerns.

• Remove oils, dirt, rust, and other contaminants to ensure proper paint adhesion.
• Hang or position parts on racks or conveyors for the powder coating process.
• Inspect parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards before painting.
• Mask or tape areas that should not be coated.
• Assist with unloading painted parts and perform light assembly tasks as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies related to equipment and materials.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding production needs or quality concerns.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Moves parts weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Frequent cutting bending and moving of parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional squatting, sitting, kneeling, and overhead reaching.
• Exposure to noise – continuously
• Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds frequently
• Continuously operating machinery with buttons, levers, and switches.
• Lifting parts above the shoulder and requiring 80 pounds of force to initiate movement.
• Standing, Twisting, Walking – frequently
• Continuous standing and walking on concrete surfaces
