Job description

Join to apply for the Painter role at Core Group Resources.

We are seeking experienced marine painters for a one-month project involving Aids to Navigation (ATON) and the CGC PIKE, an 87-foot U.S. Coast Guard Cutter. Work will primarily involve surface prep and painting of steel structures, with some aluminum. Portions of the job involve critical coated surfaces, requiring attention to detail and proper documentation.

Painters Responsibilities
  • Surface preparation (grinding, sanding, blasting as required)
  • Application of marine coatings on steel and aluminum surfaces
  • Follow paint system specifications and safety protocols
  • Complete basic documentation (paint logs/inspection forms)
  • Work efficiently as part of a team in a shipyard or marine environment
Position Requirements
  • Able to commit to the full month of work
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors and at heights
  • Must follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • U.S. work authorization
  • Prior experience painting on vessels, especially USCG or NAVSEA work
  • Familiarity with critical coatings and surface preparation standards
  • NACE Level I certification (preferred, not required)
  • Experience completing or assisting with paint inspection forms
