Mickey Truck Bodies in Freehold, NJ is seeking an experienced Autobody Painter to join the Reconditioning Team. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (7:30 am–4 pm) with competitive hourly pay and a productivity bonus based on performance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of autobody/industrial painting experience, strong paint prep knowledge, and HVLP spray experience. You will prep, prime, and apply finishes to truck bodies and components, ensuring top-quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of autobody or industrial painting experience.
• Strong knowledge of paint prep, application techniques, and materials.
• Experience with HVLP spray equipment.
• Ability to recognize and correct finish defects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces through sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming.
• Mix and match paint colors for accurate finish results.
• Apply paint coatings using spray guns (HVLP).
• Inspect and correct defects such as sags, runs, or thin spots.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and material-handling procedures.
• Maintain spray guns, paint booths, and equipment.
• Apply undercoats, sealers, and topcoats to various surfaces (metal, fiberglass, composites).
• Work with production teams to meet job timelines.
• Record paint usage, color codes, and job details.
• Perform touch-ups and final finish repairs.

About the Role

The Autobody Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting truck bodies, trailers, and components according to company quality and safety standards. You will ensure all finished surfaces meet durability, appearance, and performance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces through sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 2 years of autobody or industrial painting experience

Strong knowledge of paint prep, application techniques, and materials

Experience with HVLP spray equipment

Ability to recognize and correct finish defects

Preferred

Experience painting truck bodies or trailers

Technical/vocational training in paint application

Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship

Strong color-matching ability

Understanding of OSHA/EPA safety practices

Ability to work independently and on a team

Dependable, punctual, and organized

• Manufacturing/shop environment
