Fairfield University is seeking a Painter in the Facilities Management division. The role involves completing painting assignments across campus buildings, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with supervising 5-6 summer assistants. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and at least two years of painting experience, plus a CT motor vehicle license. The position supports campus maintenance and project upgrades.
Job Description: TITLE: Painter DIVISION: Facilities Management DEPARTMENT: Facilities Management BASIC FUNCTION: Provide general maintenance and repair of all campus buildings and facilities. Complete painting assignments to ensure proper painting techniques are used; assists in supervising 5-6 summer assistants, ensures the proper maintenance of painting vehicles.
UNUSUAL WORK CONDITIONS: Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be available to work during inclement weather, as well as during peak periods of required overtime, and emergency call-ins. Capable of working alone and must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs with no weight restrictions. Able to work on roofs and climb ladders. Able to work at various heights and in all types of weather conditions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL NEEDED: EDUCATION: High School Diploma EXPERIENCE: 2 years' experience in painting. Possession of a valid CT motor vehicle license in good standing.
