Lamar University in Beaumont, TX is seeking a skilled painter for the Facilities Maintenance Department. This essential position involves applying paint and coatings to protect interior and exterior surfaces, with potential exposure to dusty or noisy environments.
Visa sponsorship is not available and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities include surface prep, coating application, minor drywall repairs, and operating painting tools.
Painting is a key specialty within the Facilities Maintenance Department. Under general supervision, these employees apply paint, varnish, stain, enamel, and lacquer to protect and enhance interior and exterior building surfaces. They may occasionally work in environments that are dusty, wet, noisy, or otherwise hazardous. This position is designated as essential, and employees may be required to work during university closures related to emergencies or natural disasters. Painters work under the direct supervision of the Building Trades Supervisor within the Facilities Maintenance Department.
