Job summary

PPG in Cedar Falls, IA is actively hiring a Painter for the 1st shift. The role offers a pay rate of $18.85 per hour, with either an 8-hour day (4:45am–1:15pm) or a 10-hour day (4:45am–3:15pm).

As a Painter, you will paint components to the required standard, perform viscosity checks, adjust paint viscosity, document procedures, and maintain a clean 5S-aligned workspace. The position emphasizes attention to detail and teamwork at PPG.

Qualifications

• Industrial painting experience preferred.
• Able to stand 8–10 hours per day.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to wear a full paint suit, including a hood.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Paint all parts to an acceptable standard.
• Perform viscosity tests and adjust paint viscosity.
• Document procedures and use MSDS book.
• Change fluid filters and perform minor repairs.
• Maintain a clean 5S workspace and assist in troubleshooting paint operations.

Painter - Cedar Falls, IA

Payrate: $18.85 Hourly

1st Shift: Either 8 hour days (4:45am to 1:15pm) or 10 hour days (4:45am to 3:15pm)

As a Painter you will be a crucial part of our operations! Your work will directly affect people's lives!

Primary Responsibilities

• Be able to paint all parts to an acceptable standard
• Know how to do a viscosity test
• Know how to adjust volumes and the viscosity of paint
• Know how to add paint and catalyze per system
• Know how and where to document the different procedures.
• Know how to use the MSDS book
• Know how to change fluid filters
• Do equipment adjustments and minor repairs.
• Maintain a clean work area to meet the 5S standard.
• Do routine clean-up of paint equipment.
• Assist in troubleshooting problems during paint operations
• Rework any paint defects as soon as they are discovered.
• Attention to detail
• Keep a positive, upbeat attitude

Qualifications

• Industrial Painting experience is preferred
