Job summary

Madden's on Gull Lake in Brainerd, Minnesota, is seeking a full-time Painter to maintain and beautify our resort buildings. The role involves preparing surfaces, applying paints and finishes, and ensuring safe, tidy work areas.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent). Work is performed on-site in a multi-facility resort environment with a 7:30am–3:30pm schedule, Monday through Friday, and travel is minimal.

Madden’s is currently seeking a full-time Painter to maintain and beautify our resort buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures and floors, and applying tape to protect surfaces.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and repairing holes and cracks.
• Apply latex and oil-based paints and varnishes.
• Finish newly hung drywall by taping joints and applying joint compound.
• Fix blemishes on walls and ceilings by skim coating and sanding.
• Ensure all areas and equipment are clean at the end of day.
• Comfortably work on ladders and scaffolding.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Follow all company and government safety guidelines and requirements.
• Effectively use a variety of paint and drywall tools; follow oral and/or written instructions; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
• Effectively manage time and complete all delegated work within the specified time.
• Work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Work is performed in multiple outlets and facilities.

Physical Demands

Primarily stationary such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk and hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50-pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly.

Expected Hours of Work

7:30am – 3:30pm Monday through Friday.

Travel

Less than 10% travel required.
