Job summary

Madden Brothers Inc. in Brainerd, MN is seeking a full-time Painter to perform interior and exterior painting across multiple outlets. Work hours are 7:30 am–3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a pay rate of $20.00–$25.00 hourly.

You will prep surfaces, apply latex and oil-based paints and varnishes, finish drywall joints, and fix blemishes while following safety guidelines and teamwork expectations. This role does not include supervisory duties and requires the ability to use ladders or scaffolding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Ensure work areas and equipment are clean at day’s end.
• Work on ladders and scaffolding safely.
• Follow safety guidelines from company and government.
• Use paint and drywall tools and follow instructions; work with team.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00 hourly

Responsibilities

• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures and floors, applying tape to protect surfaces.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and repairing holes and cracks.
• Apply latex and oil-based paints and varnishes.
• Finish newly hung drywall by taping joints and applying joint compound.
• Fix blemishes on walls and ceilings by skim coating and sanding.
• Ensure all areas and equipment are clean at the end of day.
• Must be comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Follow all company and government safety guidelines and requirements.
• Effectively use a variety of paint and drywall tools; follow oral and/or written instructions; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
• Ability to effectively manage time and complete all delegated work within the specified time.
• Ability to work in a team and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.

Qualifications

• Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.
• Work Environment: Work is performed in multiple outlets and facilities.
• Physical Demands: Primarily stationary such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50-pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly.
• Travel: Less than 10% travel required.
