Job summary

Hunters Run Country Club is seeking a skilled Painter Maintenance Technician to plan and perform painting, refinishing, and related projects to maintain the club’s aesthetics.

You will prepare areas, apply coatings, install wall coverings, and manage supplies while adhering to safety guidelines. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is required in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a professional painter (5–10 years)
• Private club, hotel or resort experience preferred
• Experience in construction is a plus
• Able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays

• Ability to use systems to manage work orders
• Exposure to drywall dust and paint fumes; follow containment protocols

Responsibilities

• Prepare areas to be painted by cleaning, sanding, patching, and masking surfaces.
• Paint and repair surfaces throughout facilities, including walls, furniture, and equipment.
• Prepare surfaces using spackle, plaster, matching paint, brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
• Install wall coverings and repair various surfaces.
• Maintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood, and masonry surfaces.
• Manage related supply inventory and other duties as assigned.
• Follow OSHA/MSDS guidelines and use proper ventilation for chemicals.
• Clean up area, supplies, and equipment after project completion.

Position Summary

A Painter Maintenance Technician’s primary role is to plan and perform a variety of painting, projects and refinishing activities required to ensure maintenance of facility aesthetics. Performs additional department related duties as requested by Facility Management Team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepares area(s) to be painted by cleaning, or if necessary, scraping, sanding, patching, and masking of adjacent surfaces prior to painting, papering, texturing, etc.
• Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained, and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture, and equipment throughout the facilities
• Prepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools including, but not limited to, measuring surfaces, applying spackle and plaster, mixing paint, matching paint, and using brushes, rollers, and spray-guns
• Install and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces including, but not limited to, hanging vinyl paper, fabric, and foil wall coverings
• Maintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood and masonry surfaces requiring staining, varnishing, and lacquering
• Manage related supply inventory
• Additional duties as assigned
• Follows OSHA/MSDS guidelines with respect to use of hazardous chemicals; uses proper ventilation when using paint removers, varnishes, cleaners, etc.
• Familiarizes him/herself with storage and disposal laws, regulations, codes, etc.
• Thoroughly cleans area, supplies, and equipment when project is completed

Education / Experience

• 5 to 10 years of experience as a professional painter
• Private club, hotel or resort experience preferred.
• Experience in the construction field is a plus.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to use systems and technology to manage work orders

• Work environment frequently involves exposure to drywall dust and paint fumes; adherence to dust containment protocols in luxury club spaces is mandatory. Must be at least 18 years old and available to work a varied schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.

Licenses or Certificates

• Valid driver’s license.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification a plus.
• Certifications and training in painting is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and operate; reach with hands and arms; and see, talk and hear.
• The employee is frequently required to walk, bend, kneel, climb, crawl into small spaces, push, pull, reach and occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs.
• Must be able to use step ladders, extension ladders, and 6ft scaffolding.
• The job consists of both inside and outside work. Precautions should be taken for work performed outside for extended periods of time.
