Description

painter is responsible for applying various paints and coatings to surfaces, ensuring they are both aesthetically pleasing and protected from the elements. This role involves preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paint, using various tools and equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Full time. Must have 2+ years experience and own transportation. Commercial environment.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation:

  • Cleaning, sanding, and scraping surfaces
  • Filling cracks, holes, and imperfections
  • Masking and taping off areas to protect from paint splatter
Painting:
  • Applying paint, varnish, enamel, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray guns
  • Mixing and matching paint colors
  • Ensuring even and consistent application of paint
Tool and Equipment Management:
  • Operating and maintaining painting equipment, including scaffolding, ladders, and spray guns
  • Setting up and taking down equipment
  • Cleaning and storing tools and equipment
Safety:
  • Following all safety procedures and regulations
  • Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Other:
  • May assist with other tasks as assigned

Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of painting techniques and practices
  • Ability to work at heights and on ladders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work meticulously
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
  • Basic math skills for estimating materials
