Overview

Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care, including Children’s at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. It provides patients with a full range of diagnostic and treatment services, as well as heart and vascular care. Memorial is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and is designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Additionally, Memorial Belleville is a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center accredited by the American College of Radiology. Since 2008, it has been recognized as a Magnet organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital, was recognized with Magnet status in 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services, plus critical care.

The goal of the Plant Operations/Maintenance Department is to provide a safe, comfortable, and compliant physical environment. The department performs routine repairs and maintenance and provides essential services to hospital, office buildings, and off-site facilities.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides craft and carpentry skills for maintaining buildings and offsite properties. Performs repairs and completes new facility finishes. Handles complex repairs and overhauls across various facilities. Supports other trades as needed.

Responsibilities

  1. Keeps equipment clean and operational, handles hazardous/infectious waste properly, practices infection control, and adheres to regulatory guidelines.
  2. Produces high-quality construction, painting, and coating applications using standard painter skills.
  3. Performs preventative maintenance according to schedule and standards.
  4. Identifies and recommends upgrades or repairs within the facility.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • <2 years

Supervisor Experience

  • No Experience required

Preferred Requirements

  • Associate or Trade School education or equivalent
