Job summary

Thompson Hospitality is seeking a skilled Painter to join our facilities team and handle painting across campus buildings. You will prepare surfaces, apply paints and finishes, and maintain tools while following safety protocols and PPE usage.

The role requires experience with various painting techniques and a keen eye for craftsmanship. You will work on-site, collaborate with team members and clients, and contribute to high-quality finishes across projects.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Formal painting apprenticeship or vocational training is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a painter with a strong portfolio.
  • Experience with various painting techniques and materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to operate painting equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sand, scrape, and prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Fill cracks, holes, and joints with appropriate materials.
  • Apply primers or sealers to surfaces as needed.
  • Apply paint, varnish, lacquer, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and textures.
  • Apply specialty finishes as required.
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and power washers.
  • Clean and store tools and equipment properly after use.

Overview

We’re hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our facilities team! In this role, you’ll handle all aspects of surface preparation, painting, and finishing across various campus buildings. Responsibilities include cleaning and prepping surfaces, applying paint and specialty finishes, and maintaining painting tools and equipment. You’ll follow safety protocols, use PPE, and ensure clean, organized workspaces throughout each project. If you take pride in high-quality craftsmanship, have experience with a range of painting techniques, and are committed to safety and professionalism, we’d love to have you on our team!
