Position: Painter

Position Summary: The painter will be responsible for painting walls, equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Protect surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper during painting.
2. Mix coating additives to thin paints or promote drying and adhesion.
3. Fill cracks, holes, and joints with appropriate fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
4. Remove rust, grease, dirt, concrete, and old paint using sandblasting equipment, chemical applications, chipping hammers, power tools, and abrasives.
5. Apply primers or sealers to prepare surfaces such as wood, metal, piping, fixtures, structures, and equipment for painting.
6. Apply finishes like paint, stain, varnish, or enamel to heavy equipment, buildings, and structures using brushes, spray guns, sandblasting equipment, or rollers.
7. Estimate required materials and costs based on surface measurements or work orders.
8. Set up scaffolding, swing gates, or ladders to work at heights.
9. Match and mix colors with additives to achieve desired results.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the industrial construction/maintenance industry.
• Must pass DISA background check and drug screening.
• Must have current Basic Plus Safety Council, OSHA 10, or OSHA 30 certification.

Physical Requirements: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
