AutoNation in Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Paint Technician Trainee to support the Paint Team Lead by preparing vehicles and parts for painting, masking, sanding, priming, and proper surface prep. You will mix paints per specs and review work with the painter, while adhering to OSHA and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid in-state driver’s license
• Certification in ICAR or OEM certification preferred
• Ability to operate an automobile
• Strong interest in car repair and finishing

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles and parts for painting with guidance from Paint Team Lead.
• Mask parts not to be painted or coated.
• Sand and prime vehicles and parts as appropriate.
• Remove rust and grease from work surfaces.
• Mix all paint and chemicals per manufacturer directions/specifications.
• Review all work with painter.
• Follow federal, state, and local regulations affecting Collision Center operations (e.g., OSHA).
• Gain product knowledge to provide high-quality repairs.
