Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Paint Technician Trainee to assist the Paint Team Lead in preparing vehicles and parts for painting, masking, sanding, priming, and finishing with a focus on quality. You will learn to mix paints according to specifications and ensure surfaces meet safety standards and OEM guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles/parts for painting according to direction.
  • Mask off areas not to be painted.
  • Sand and prime surfaces as needed.
  • Remove rust and grease from surfaces.
  • Mix paint and chemicals per manufacturer directions.
  • Review completed work with painter and supervisor.
  • Follow regulatory requirements (hazardous waste, OSHA).
  • Build product knowledge to support high-quality repairs.
