Job summary

LG Electronics is seeking a Paint Operations Supervisor in the United States to lead the daily production plan in the Paint department. You will mentor operators and line leaders, ensure material availability, and uphold safety, quality, and efficiency targets while coordinating with other departments.

The role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, with experience in manufacturing methods and process improvements, and occasional international travel.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • 5+ years of Production experience.
  • Experience mentoring/coaching Operators.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and process improvements.
  • Some occasional international travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Create daily Paint operations plan.
  • Provide line leaders with daily start-up meeting information.
  • Manage training needs of Paint operators, technicians and line leaders.
  • Verify raw material availability and report shortages.
  • Monitor and enforce plant policies and procedures.
  • Review work performance of operators, technicians and line leaders.
  • Manage the quality systems in the Paint department.
  • Monitor product quality and respond to internal customer issues.
  • Achieve daily targets for Safety, Quality, Idel Time, UPH & 5S.
  • Attend planning meetings and training sessions as required.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for creating the daily Paint operations plan
  • Responsible for providing the line leaders with daily start-up meeting information
  • Responsible for managing the training needs of Paint operators, technicians and line leaders
  • Responsible to verify raw material availability and report any shortages
  • Monitor and enforce plant policies and procedures
  • Assists Manager with reviewing the work performance of operators, technicians and line leaders
  • Responsible for managing the quality systems in the Paint department
  • Monitor product for any quality issues and respond to internal customer issues, as needed
  • Achieve established daily performance targets for Safety, Quality, IF Cost, Idle Time, UPH & 5S
  • Interact with other functional departments as necessary
  • Make radio calls to PM & AGV technicians as required
  • Maintain payroll for Press employees
  • Apply corrective actions to Press employees as required.
  • Ensure materials / supplies are used efficiently
  • Understand, teach, personify, and enforce FI-11 & 5S standards
  • Attend production planning meetings, other meetings, and training sessions as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years of Production experience
  • Experience in mentoring and/or coaching Operators
  • Strong understanding of production of complex equipment and system integration
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and process improvements
  • Ability to use strong skills in analyzing, troubleshooting and evaluating problems
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing including machine capabilities and efficiencies, etc.
  • Some occasional international travel required
