Singer Group in Torrance, CA is seeking a Paint Prep Technician to join our team and help deliver luxury vehicles with flawless paint prep. The role requires meticulous prep work, masking, sanding, and QA to ensure top standards before the final paint application.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in paint preparation for high-end autos, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment on site.

Qualifications

• Experience with various materials (steel, composites) prep for paint

Responsibilities

• File, grind, mask, and sand to precise standards prior to paint application.
• Inspect vehicles for flaws and ensure quality before painting.
• Prep vehicles for paint application and ensure QA to company standards.
• Fill depressions with body filler and ensure quality repair.
• Mask areas not to be painted with precision.
• Use hand and power tools to finish surfaces and align panels.

• You will carry out paint preparation work to the absolute highest standards on our Singer luxury vehicles in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”

What You’ll Do:

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, filing, grinding, masking, prepping, sanding to precise standards, applying primer, paint application,andconducting quality assurance inspections and revisions prior to our advanced paint application processes.
• Clean and inspect vehicles for any flaws or imperfections prior to painting
• Prep vehicles for paint application and ensures quality assurance to precise company standards.
• Properly fill depressions with body filler and ensures a quality repair.
• Carefully and accurately mask any areas that are not meant to be painted.
• Use hammers/dollies to fix minor metalwork.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
• Replace bolts on panels and align properly.

Who We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in paint preparation for high-end luxury automobiles, hot rods, or restoration shops
• Experience with painting and prepping custom or restored automobiles
• Experience filing, sanding, and grinding different materials such as steel, carbon- fiber/composite and/or fiberglass to provide an impeccable surface in preparation for paint application on custom automobiles
• Experience prepping and painting different materials including steel, and composites
• Ability to perform quality assurance to precise company standards
• Experience using various hand and power tools and equipment
• Must possess high attention to detail, adhere to high standards, and work well in a dedicated team environment where, “Everything is Important”
• Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines

Location & Schedule:

This is an onsite position in Torrance, CA and the schedule is Monday – Friday 5am - 1:30pm with potential overtime.
