Job summary

Singer Vehicle Design in Torrance, CA seeks an experienced Automotive Painter who shares our relentless pursuit of excellence. You’ll mix, apply, and refine water- and solvent-based paints on luxury Porsche vehicles, ensuring flawless finishes and adherence to exacting standards.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, 10+ years of hands-on painting, and a proven ability to prep, paint, and finish diverse materials including steel, fiberglass, and composites. Porsche familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years hands-on experience with custom paint on high-end luxury vehicles, hot rods or restorations.
• Experience with paint guns, tools, and techniques for applications.
• Mastered in precisely mixing and blending paint in various formulations.
• Strong attention to detail to create precise color samples and accurate records.
• Experience prepping and painting different parts/materials including steel, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and composites.
• Bonus for Porsche 911 familiarity and for Akzo Nobel/PPG paint familiarity.
• Bonus for automotive paint certifications.

Responsibilities

• Precisely mix and blend water-based and solvent-based paints to defined standards and finishes.
• Ensure prep is complete before paint application to achieve desired finish.
• Apply multiple coats using various guns and techniques.
• Ensure each coat adheres to defined quality and application standards.

WhatYou’llDo:

• Precisely mixand blendwater-based and solvent-based paint to defined standards and in a variety of finish formulations (e.g., pearl, metallics, candied, matte, fluid, etc.).
• Ensure paint prep has been completed prior to paint application to ensure the painted surfaces will produce the desired finish.
• Accurately applymultiple coats of paint using various paint guns and techniques.
• Ensure thateach coat has been applied properly to adhere to the defined quality and precise application standards.
• Assess and paint parts and vehicles in need of repair.
• Partner and provide clear communication with other team members and departments involved in the vehicle reconditioning process.
• Track and handle hazardous waste according to regulations and company policy.
• Follow proper operating rules, procedures, and standardized workflow.
• Wear and use required safety equipment (respirator, eye, and skin protectors).
• Maintain a clean and productive work environment by keeping tools and supplies organized throughout the Paint department.

WhoWe’reLooking For:

• High School Diploma orequivalent.
• 10 years of hands‑on experience with custom paint application to high‑end luxury vehicles, hot rods, or restorations.
• Experience using various tools, paint guns, and techniques for paintapplications.
• Mastered in precisely mixing and blending paint in a variety of formulations.
• Perfectionist mindset,very highattention to detail to create precise color samples and keepaccuraterecords.
• Experienced in prepping and paintingdifferent partsand materials including steel, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and composites.
• Bonus points for familiarity with Porsche 911s, and/or familiarity with Akzo Nobel and PPG paint applications.
• Bonus points for automotive paint certifications.

Location & Schedule:

This position is located in Torrance, CA. Upon hire, you’ll work Monday – Friday; 1:45 - 10:15 PM.

What We Offer - Benefits Driven By You

The starting pay range for this position is between $39.00 - $50.00 per hour with a $2.50 shift differential, plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
