Job summary

Singer Vehicle Design in Torrance, CA seeks a Bodywork Technician with a passion for restoration and precise workmanship. You will work onsite to deliver top-tier paint and body work on Singer vehicles, often under tight deadlines while maintaining exacting standards.

The role requires 5+ years in high-end automotive restoration, experience with water-based basecoats, 2K clearcoats, high film build primers, and color sanding.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in high-end luxury automobiles, hot rods, restoration body shops.
• Experience applying and mixing water-based refinish basecoats and 2K remainder coatings.
• Knowledge of polyester fillers to shape body panels.
• Color sanding experience.
• High-level surfacing and gaping using block sanding methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality color sanding and polishing on repaired surfaces.
• Surface vehicles without supervision.
• Align body panels to gap and flush specification.
• Shoot primer and surfacing primer with supervision.

WhatYou’llDo:

• Perform high quality paint repair and production work
• Perform high quality color sand and polishing work including filing, grinding, and sanding of repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
• Surface vehicles without supervision
• Perform high quality surfacing repair and production work, including depression repair
• Align body panels to gap and flush specification
• Shoot primer and surfacing primer without supervision

WhoWe’reLooking For:

• Custom car or restoration experience
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in high-end luxury automobiles, hot rods, restoration body shops
• Experience applyingand mixingwater- based refinish basecoats, 2K refinish clearcoats, and high film build urethane primers and sealers
• Experience using polyester fillers to correct and shape body panels
• Color sanding experience
• Knowledge of high-level surfacing and gaping using block sanding methods
• Must possesses high attention to detail, adhere to high standards, and work well in a dedicated team environment where, “Everything is Important”
• Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines

Location & Schedule:

This is an onsite position in Torrance, CA and the schedule is Monday – Friday 5am – 1:30pm with overtime or 1:45pm – 10:15pm.
