Job summary

Open Road Collision is seeking a Paint Prep Technician to join our Chandler, AZ shop. You will prep, sand, wipe, buff and assist the paint team in delivering high-quality repairs for our customers.

The ideal candidate has 1 year collision paint prep experience or I-CAR Paint Line certification, a valid driver's license, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. We offer safe work, growth opportunities, and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • I-CAR Certification in body repair preferred knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer (OEM Certified Preferred).
  • I-CAR / Paint Line certified a plus.
  • 1 Year Collision paint prep experience a plus.
  • Genuine interest in providing an exceptional customer experience with a team-player attitude and strong work-ethic.
  • Safe working knowledge of paint tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prep, sand, wipe, bag, buff as needed by the paint shop.
  • Follow repair orders and assist the paint team to maintain on-time status.
  • Operate paint shop equipment safely and productively.
  • Inspect all work as a QC measure after completion.

Job description

Position Overview

As part of the Open Road Collision group DBA Allard Collision, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality collision repair services with exceptional customer care. Our team is dedicated to restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition while making the repair process as smooth and stress-free as possible for our customers. We're currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Paint Prep Technician.

Position Duties
  • Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair and status
  • Performs quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind
  • Ability to spray is a plus
  • Performing work as outlined on repair orders
  • Performing prep, sanding, wiping, bagging, buffing as needed by the paint shop
  • Operating all equipment in the collision center in a safe and productive manner
  • Following Safety Standards for the use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) while working
  • Inspecting all work performed as a Quality Control (QC) measure as soon as jobs are completed
  • Mixing all chemicals according to manufacturer directions/specifications

Requirements
