Job summary

OpenRoad Davis Paint & Collision LLC in Oklahoma City is seeking a Paint Prep Technician to support our collision repair team. You will perform prep, sanding, wiping, bagging and buffing as needed by the paint shop, while ensuring quality and on-time completion of repairs.

The ideal candidate has collision paint prep experience and I-CAR/paint-line certifications, with a customer-friendly attitude and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of collision paint prep experience is a plus.
  • I-CAR certification in body repair is preferred.
  • I-CAR / Paint Line certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Strong teamwork and a positive, customer-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, sand, wipe, bag, buff as required by the paint shop.
  • Perform prep work and follow repair orders to ensure on-time status.
  • Reload and mix chemicals according to manufacturer directions.
  • Operate shop equipment safely and maintain high quality control.

Position Overview:

As part of the Open Road Collision group DBA Davis Paint & Collision, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality collision repair services with exceptional customer care. Our team is dedicated to restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition while making the repair process as smooth and stress-free as possible for our customers. We're currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Paint Prep Technician.

Position Duties:

  • Works and communicates with others on vehicle repair and status
  • Performs quality repairs while keeping on-time status in mind
  • Ability to spray is a plus
  • Performing work as outlined on repair orders
  • Performing prep, sanding, wiping, bagging, buffing as needed by the paint shop
  • Operating all equipment in the collision center in a safe and productive manner
  • Following Safety Standards for the use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) while working
  • Inspecting all work performed as a Quality Control (QC) measure as soon as jobs are completed
  • Mixing all chemicals according to manufacturer directions/specifications

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • I-CAR Certification in body repair preferred knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer (OEM Certified Preferred)
  • I-CAR / Paint Line certified a plus
  • 1 Year Collision paint prep experience a plus
  • Genuine interest in providing an exceptional customer experience friendliness, enthusiasm, reliability, with a positive "team-player" attitude, strong work-ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Safe working knowledge of paint tools and equipment
