Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Paint Prep associate in Erial, NJ to clean, grind and sand surfaces prior to painting. The position offers an hourly wage of $21.30 and a 6:00 AM–4:30 PM shift, Monday through Friday with Saturdays when needed.

Responsibilities include inspecting surfaces for defects, selecting and applying abrasives, operating grinders, and finishing surfaces to a smooth finish. Lifting up to 50 lbs and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Overtime availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Examines and feels surface of workpiece for defects.
• Selects abrasive wheel or disk and attaches to grinder according to specifications.
• Starts grinder and moves it over surface to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burs.
• Polishes ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface.
• Replaces worn abrasive disks/wheels.
