Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Paint Prep in Erial, NJ to clean, grind, and sand surfaces of components and finished products prior to painting. The role pays $21.30 per hour and requires handling materials up to 50 lbs, with overtime when needed.

The position runs Monday through Friday, with Saturdays when required. You will operate grinders and abrasives to ensure defect-free surfaces ready for coating, in a team-focused manufacturing environment at Wastequip.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to work overtime.
• Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspects surface of workpiece for defects and uses appropriate grinding equipment.
• Selects abrasive wheel or disk according to specs and attaches to grinder.
• Operates grinder to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burrs.
• Polishes ground areas with finer abrasive for a smooth finish.
• Replaces worn abrasive disks and wheels as needed.
