Job summary

Wastequip is seeking an Industrial Painter to support a new Salisbury, NC steel manufacturing location. The role involves using an airless paint finishing system to spray surfaces of machines and products with protective coatings such as paint or enamel.

You will mix coatings, mask uncoated areas, prepare surfaces, operate spray equipment, and perform finish work in a fast-paced production environment. Prior experience with airless systems and metal surfaces is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience using an Airless Paint Finishing System.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery and manufactured products.
• Experience using paints, enamels, gloss coatings or lacquers.

Responsibilities

• Cleans grease and dirt from product.
• Applies masking tape over parts and areas not to be coated.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to achieve a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquids to produce desired color.
• Operates spray container and adjusts gun, width and pressure.
• Sprays surfaces to apply prime or finish coat.
• Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush.
• Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heats and sprays wax onto products after testing.
• Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool.
