Job summary

Benjamin Moore & Co. in Newark, NJ is seeking a production operator responsible for batch formulation, mixing materials, color matching, and ensuring the quality of finished paint products.

This role works closely with the Shading Department to achieve dispersion and tinting accuracy, following Central Lab formulations and safety guidelines. Responsibilities include operating fill by weight equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to environmental and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic math skills (addition/subtraction).
• Experience with color specifications and matching desirable.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain accuracy and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, environmental and regulatory guidelines and wear required PPE.
• Maintain quality and cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Perform batch formulation and material additions as prescribed by Central Lab formulations.
• Match batches to customer specifications using color spectrophotometer and visual shading.
• Transfer batches to scheduled tanks for thinning and filling with accurate materials.
