Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Batch Operator in Columbus, OH to support batching, mixing, and compounding of paint products in a unionized plant. You will work with raw materials, follow batch instructions, and operate mixers and process equipment while maintaining clean, organized work areas.

This contract-to-hire role offers full onsite work with a pay rate of $28/hr, equating to about $58k/year before benefits. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with company match, PTO, and HSA options.

Qualifications

• Experience in chemical operations or compounding within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to batch, blend, and mix using industrial equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with multiple part numbers and raw materials.
• Ability to read and follow batch records and process instructions.
• Comfort working in a union environment and following established guidelines.
• Willingness to learn and be trained on various duties and processes.
• Reliability and flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Batch and compound paint products per established procedures and batch records.
• Operate mixers, blenders, and other equipment to blend raw materials.
• Measure and weigh raw materials accurately for formulation integrity.
• Stage orders and ensure correct part numbers and materials.
• Keep materials organized and labeled to avoid errors.
• Clean tanks, mixers, and equipment between batches to prevent cross-contamination.
• Handle general material movements and housekeeping in the production area.
• Follow GMP and quality procedures to maintain product quality.
• Review batch records and process instructions with attention to detail.
• Support production operations as a process operator across tasks.
• Collaborate with team to meet production schedules and peak-season demand.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and union plant policies.
