Job summary

The Center for Pain is seeking a Procedure Room Technician to join our clinical team in Birmingham, AL. You will prep patients, assist during pain management procedures, and ensure equipment is functioning and sterile.

Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, documenting details, and educating patients after procedures. A High School diploma and BLS certification are required; ACLS is a plus. This is a full-time, on-site role with a focus on compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with patients.
• Experience in a medical or healthcare setting is a plus.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for pain management procedures and answer questions.
• Assist providers during procedures such as epidurals and nerve blocks.
• Set up and maintain procedure room equipment ensuring proper function.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to any distress during procedures.
• Document patient data and procedure details accurately.
• Maintain sterile environment and follow infection control protocols.
• Provide post-procedure instructions and follow-up information.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and staff to ensure smooth care.
• Adhere to HIPAA and safety standards; pursue ongoing education.
