Responsibilities

• Conduct admissions including history and physical examinations.
• Evaluate and treat patients, order and interpret diagnostic studies.
• Coordinate care with primary care and other specialists.
• Discuss end-of-life preferences and advance care planning.
• Provide perioperative care and post-discharge instructions.
• Respond to emergencies and lead rapid response when needed.
• Ensure proper hand-offs and test result notifications as per policy.

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for full-time Pain Management Services Physicians at the Lebanon VAMC.

Job Summary: The Pain Management Physician will have experience with pain management and opioid prescribing on site for the VAMC in Lebanon, PA. The physician will be providing services to veterans. Pain Management Physicians are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to all individuals

Pay

$291.96 / hr

Duties

• Conduct admission, including history and physical examinations
• Ensure that the patient is placed in the appropriate department within the Hospital
• Evaluate and treat patients, including: Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies (this includes laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and electrocardiographic examinations)
• Discuss end of life preferences/advanced care planning
• Coordinate care with primary care physician
• Give detailed discharge instructions including ensuring
• Provide perioperative care
• Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. This includes running code teams and rapid response teams.
• Review all admissions to inpatient hospital care recommended by Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner providers. Every admission to inpatient care shall have a person-to-person hand-off/hand-over from the admitting Provider to a responsible member of the admitting team.
• Mechanisms must be in-place to provide notification of test results for patients receiving care in accordance with VHA Directive 1088
• Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.

Qualifications

• Physician shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia when services are performed onsite VA property
• No history of license restriction, suspension, revocation, voluntary surrender or denial of licensure
• Should be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pain Management Physician Services and opioid prescribing and have experience in providing scope of care
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Pain Management Physician
• Current DEA certification with expiration date provided
• Fluency in English, including speaking, reading, writing and comprehension
• Shall have an active BLS and ACLS (AHA preferred)
