Responsibilities

  • Respond to medical problems presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, and treatment
  • Promote health education and stay informed of medical developments
  • See patients and respond accordingly as part of day-to-day responsibilities
  • Analyze records, reports, tests, or examination information to diagnose conditions
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, and medications
  • Perform procedures on eligible patients
  • Monitor patient condition and re-evaluate treatments as needed
  • Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient confidentiality
  • Refer patients to other physicians and hospitals as appropriate
  • Attend provider meetings with senior management
  • Possibly supervise a Physician Assistant or NP
  • Manage patient records using the EMR system
  • Maintain continuing professional development portfolio

Job description

Interventional Pain Management Physician

Location: Lawrenceville, Stockbridge, & Newnan (Based on schedules), Georgia. Clinic & ASC. BC/BE only.

Procedures performed
  • SCS trial & perms- cervical and thoracic placement
  • DRG
  • PNS trail & perms
  • Basivertebral nerve ablation
  • SIJ stabilization
  • MILD/Interspinous process spacers
  • Via Disc
  • Other simple procedures
Responsibilities
  • Respond to medical and health problems presented by patients including collection of historical medical information, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, performing procedures, and providing referral opportunities as appropriate.
  • Keep informed of medical developments, drugs, treatments, and medications and promote health education.
  • Conduct day-to-day responsibilities such as seeing patients and responding accordingly.
  • Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
  • Perform procedures on patients who are qualified for treatments.
  • Monitor patients' condition and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Refer patients to physicians and outside practices and hospitals in conjunction with patient diagnosis.
  • Meet with and discuss the development of new pharmaceuticals with sales representatives.
  • Manage patient records using the EMR system.
  • Maintain a portfolio of continuing professional development activities.
  • Potentially supervise a Physician's Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
  • Attend regular provider meetings with senior management.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Bachelor’s degree + Medical school
  • Fellowship in Pain Management
  • Board Certified
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment
  • Good listening skills; strong verbal communication skills with a diverse range of individuals
  • Ability to work well under pressure and stay calm/focused on emergency situations
  • Ability to think on feet
  • Highly self-motivated and results-driven individual
  • Willingness to serve patients in a high-pressure environment
  • Good bedside manner, emotionally stable and able to make decisions in emergency situations
  • Desire for further education to keep up with ever changing medical advances
  • Comfortable working with computers
