Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for a 32-hour-per-week, full-time position in Charlotte, NC, supporting pain management at the Mount Holly site. You will perform patient intake tasks, vital signs, and assist with procedures under physician supervision.

The role requires completing an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military clinical training, and current BLS certification. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to deliver safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vital signs, medication reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties per CLIA standards.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Maintains clean environment and stocks supplies.
• May assist training of teammates and participate in committees.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care knowledge across the lifespan.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice, follows all policies and procedures and maintains competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings (depression, suicide, falls, social drivers of health, etc.).
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, and results tracking.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.
• Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately.
